Senior BI Consultant

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to play a key role in modernizing our business intelligence environment. This role involves rebuilding legacy reports in Power BI, integrating with modern data platforms such as Databricks and Azure, and collaborating closely with business domain experts to deliver actionable insights. You will work through a structured handover process from the existing team while designing scalable, high-quality BI solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities:

Recreate and modernize existing legacy reports in Power BI, ensuring business continuity and accuracy

Design and build interactive dashboards and data models integrated with Databricks and Azure-based sources

Develop efficient and reusable DAX measures, Power Query (M) transformations, and semantic models

Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and SMEs to validate requirements and align outputs with financial business logic

Ensure all visuals adhere to best practices in data visualisation, governance, and performance optimisation

Participate in a structured handover process with the outgoing team to capture logic, dependencies, and business rules

Document report logic, business definitions, and transformation rules to support maintainability

Contribute to the Agile delivery process, working in sprints

Required Experience and Skills

5+ years of hands-on experience delivering Power BI solutions in complex, enterprise environments.

Experience in financial services or regulated industries.

Deep expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL and Data modeling (star schema, snowflake, normalization)

Experience integrating with Databricks and querying Delta Lake or Spark tables.

Strong knowledge of Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse).

Proven experience in migrating or recreating reports from legacy systems to Power BI.

Familiarity with source control and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or Lucidchart.
