Junior Tennis Coordinator Position

Tennis ACT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to coordinate junior tennis competitions and tournaments across the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). This part-time role offers flexibility, with 20 hours of work per week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and administering junior tennis events, ensuring a seamless and engaging competitive environment for young players. Key duties include:

  • Coordinating team entries, results, finals, and communications to clubs and players;
  • Evaluating and enhancing the experience of junior competitions, guaranteeing they remain well-managed and responsive to player and stakeholder needs;
  • Organizing premier junior tournaments and events; and
  • Collaborating with local tournament directors and the Competitive Play Lead to develop the Junior Development Series calendar.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in coordinating events at a local and state level, preferably in tennis;
  • Strong administration skills, including computer literacy, budgeting, record-keeping, and report writing;
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities to inspire and empathize with players, parents, volunteers, and staff;
  • Effective presentation and communication skills for one-on-one and public speaking situations;
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check; and
  • Flexibility regarding working hours and arrangements related to Tennis ACT activities.
