Electrical Maintenance Specialist

The Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist with an Industrial Electrical background to join our team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing high levels of technical support to ensure customer issues, incidents and breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in equipment
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks and perform equipment audits to prevent downtime
  • Perform electrical fault finding and repair, including replacing contactors, relays and photo eyes
  • Program drives, scanners and electronic controls modules
  • Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Conduct lubrication checks, belt tracking and replace bearings, chains, belts and motors as required
  • Provide training to new technicians
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and reduce downtime
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving electrical faults within a maintenance environment
  • Unrestricted Electrical Licence
  • Trade Qualification: Certificate III - Electrotechnology or higher
  • Australian driver's license and ability to travel to work sites
  • A commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with maintaining mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Experience working in automation environments, particularly conveyors and material handling equipment
  • Understanding of industrial controls, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus and attention to detail
