About the Role

This key position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (CM) and plays a vital role in promoting a positive health and safe culture within our Construction Materials segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing integrated HSEQ management systems and processes, influencing positive safety behaviors, and achieving organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the HSEQ function to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, ISO accreditation, group standards, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement training programs to upskill coordinators and site personnel in HSEQ responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the Group Health & Safety Manager, Business Unit Managers, and HSEQ officers/advisors to identify priorities and achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage CM's HSE processes and procedures to maintain accreditations and meet MGH Group standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to achieve strategic objectives, provide expert HSEQ knowledge, and coach key personnel.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of WHS Legislation, AS/ISO 9001, AS/ISO 14001, AS/ISO 45001, and Risk Management.
  • Technical skills in risk management from extensive work experience as a qualified specialist, and experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar HSE/Q role.
  • Diploma of WHS or related discipline, with sound knowledge of associated HSE legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Experience working on major construction projects is highly regarded.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels.
