The role of a Contract Management Officer is accountable for performing and achieving complex contract management work within an integrated workforce.

Key responsibilities include providing detailed contract management, technical, professional and policy advice relating to complex work, contributing to strategic planning, program and project-management and policy development, as well as leading a team and managing workflows.

Contract Management Officers are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others.

They will also contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development in a dynamic, diverse environment requiring a number of key skills including contract administration, performance review, risk management and implementation of appropriate action.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing and implementing comprehensive contract management strategies across multiple projects.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and executing contract management plans to meet business objectives
  • Providing expert guidance on contractual matters to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless contract administration

In addition to these core responsibilities, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively manage and motivate their team members.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise in contract management, combined with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Extensive experience in contract management, preferably in a similar industry or sector
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and external partners
  • A strong understanding of contract law and regulations, as well as industry-specific standards and best practices

Candidates should also be proficient in relevant software applications and tools, such as contract management systems and Microsoft Office.
