Job Opportunity: Senior Contracts and Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced leader to spearhead the growth and development of our Contracts and Procurement services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing governance over contract and procurement operations, serving as the primary point of contact for key clients, and overseeing the delivery of C&P work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the expansion of the C&P team and drive business growth
  • Provide strategic oversight of contract and procurement activities
  • Act as the primary liaison for contract and procurement matters with key clients
  • Assist in the execution of C&P projects as needed
  • Manage team performance and talent development
  • Identify and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in contract and procurement
  • Develop and implement an annual business plan for the team
  • Champion client-centric principles and ensure their integration within the group
  • Develop and mentor staff, fostering a culture of engagement
  • Manage resource allocation, promote clear communication, and provide project leadership within the team
  • Support month-end invoicing, forecasting, and oversee financial management of the team

Requirements:

  • Able to lead a diverse team with varying skill levels through different project stages for multiple clients
  • Proven experience in contracting & procurement strategy development and implementation
  • Experience reviewing contractual and commercial documentation, including contracts, plans, letters, variations, contractor claims, and drafting responses
  • Negotiation expertise on behalf of clients
  • Project delivery mindset and general understanding of construction methodologies
  • Familiarity with common law practices and regulations related to contract management
  • Tender compilation experience, including modifying standard client documents
  • Experience dealing with contractors and suppliers in contract and procurement management
  • Claims analysis, management, and negotiation skills
  • Strong communicator and influencer
  • A collaborator able to work nationally and bring people together for collective success
