Nurse Specialist Role Overview

The Nurse Specialist is a challenging and rewarding role that supports the professional development of all staff across our clinical settings.

This position ensures best practice by providing ongoing education and support for all staff with a focus on advancing knowledge, skills and training relevant to the clinical setting.

Ongoing education will be achieved by implementing clinically based education using evidence-based principles to improve nursing care delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating the development of nursing staff through targeted education programs and clinical support.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent learning experience across allocated areas.
  • Developing education resources, policies, and best-practice initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current Nursing Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Degree in General Nursing meeting registration requirements.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant nursing specialty or similar.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Clinical Supervision or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience.
  • Clinical teaching and supervision experience.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
