About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sports Turf Greenkeeper to join our team at Green by Nature. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing sports turf surfaces to ensure they remain lush, healthy, and resilient.

Reporting to the Site Manager, this hands-on role involves performing regular maintenance tasks such as mowing practices, weed control, and nutrition management to uphold the quality and playability of turf surfaces. You will also be responsible for monitoring turf health, proactively addressing issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance sports turf surfaces to ensure optimal quality and playability.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks including mowing, weed control, and nutrition management.
  • Monitor turf health and address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction.
  • Implement sustainable turf management practices including water conservation strategies and pest management techniques.
  • Operate and maintain specialized turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Transition turf surfaces across multiple sporting codes.
  • Line marking operations.
  • Irrigation monitoring and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritize tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
  • Cricket Wicket experience (desirable).
  • Previous experience in turf management, greenkeeping, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of turfgrass species, growth habits, irrigation systems, and maintenance requirements.
  • Familiarity with turf care equipment and machinery operations, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • White Card or willingness to obtain.
  • Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
  • AQF3 Chemical Accreditation (desirable).
