Clinical Healthcare Specialist

Permanent part-time and full-time positions are available for this challenging role. The successful candidate will be based in Cairns and Edmonton, where they will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The position of Medical Officer reports directly to the Coordinator, Health Services, with no direct responsibility for supervision of staff. However, significant liaison and coordination with the clinic and clinical teams is required, together with maintaining regular contact with internal and external health professionals, service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Services: Provide high-quality primary health care services to clients of Wuchopperen, including general medical practice, emergency care, and community health.
- Program Planning and Delivery: Contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of primary health programs and services delivered by Wuchopperen.
- Clinical Policy Development: Contribute to the development of clinical policies and best practice service delivery in primary health care.
- Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Medicine from a recognized university and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) are essential requirements.
- Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive and confidential matters.
