Job Title

A GP Registrar Position in Primary Health Care

We are seeking a passionate General Practitioner to join our healthcare team in Cairns and experience the unique opportunity to deliver primary health care across Far North Queensland.

About the Role
  • Provide general practice services, including history taking, examination, decision making, diagnostics ordering and interpretation, clinical procedures, specialist referrals or secondary care admissions
  • Provide clinical care of an acute or emergent patient, pending the attendance of retrieval services
  • Provide telehealth consultations using telephone, videoconference, or email
  • Collaborate with other care providers to ensure an integrated approach to patient care
  • Provide advice to nurses and other health professionals as required
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, such as clinical audits and case reviews
  • Respect cultural diversity, including the traditional Indigenous view of health
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Registration with AHPRA as Medical Practitioner
  • Three years post-graduate experience
  • RACGP – GPT 3 or above (at least 12 months community GP experience)
  • ACRRM – CGT 2 and above (with either 6/12 primary care or 6/12 rural and remote practice or completion of relevant AST)
  • Ability to meet PHC credentialing requirements
  • Previous experience in Emergency Medicine is desirable
