Job Opportunity
">We are seeking skilled craftsmen to join our rail component overhaul team.
">This role offers a permanent, full-time position with a 9-day fortnight schedule, providing every second Friday off. The working week will commence on dayshift with some requirement to complete afternoon shifts.
">- Dayshift - Monday-Thursday 5:30 am - 2:30 pm, and 5:30 am - 1:30 pm on working Fridays
- Afternoon shift - Monday - Friday 2.30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
">As a Fitter Machinist, you'll work in our rail component overhaul line, focusing on component overhaul tasks along with general workshop duties.
">Machining Duties:
">- Machining bogie axles on CNC Lathes for requalification to desired specifications.
- Operate CNC vertical horizontal boring machines, pressing functions, other general machinist duties as required and general crane operations.
Quality Control
">- Inspecting and interpreting drawings/specifications, determining manufacturing methods, and ensuring standards are met.
Safety and Teamwork
">- Commitment to safety practices, teamwork, and collaboration.
About You
">- Rlevant Australian Trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist.
- Proven experience in metal machining and fabrication. Experience in rail, electric motor, or mining industries is advantageous but not required.
- High attention to detail, solid understanding of measuring instruments, strong communication skills, and ability to troubleshoot and repair tools.
