Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Fitters to join our rail component overhaul team. The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis under a 9-day fortnight schedule, providing every second Friday off.

  • Dayshift: Monday-Thursday 5:30 am – 2:30 pm, and 5:30 am – 1:30 pm on working Fridays
  • Afternoon shift: Monday - Friday 2.30 pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Machining Duties: Machining bogie axles on CNC Lathes for requalification to desired specifications. Operate CNC vertical horizontal boring machines, pressing functions, other general machinist duties as required and general crane operations.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting and interpreting drawings/specifications, determining manufacturing methods, and ensuring standards are met.
  • Safety and Teamwork: Commitment to safety practices, teamwork, and collaboration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications: Relevant Australian Trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist.
  • Experience: Proven experience in metal machining and fabrication. Experience in rail, electric motor, or mining industries is advantageous but not required.
  • Skills: High attention to detail, solid understanding of measuring instruments, strong communication skills, and ability to troubleshoot and repair tools.
