Overview

RMIT University is a leading educator in the field of early childhood education, and we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until January 2026, with a salary level of Childcare Worker 4 – Above Award.

Based at our Melbourne CBD Campus, you will be responsible for developing and implementing exceptional learning programs for our children, fostering a nurturing and enriching atmosphere within the Centre. Your dedication to safety and inclusivity will ensure every child thrives and feels valued in their learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate children's programs that align with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VELYLDF).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive team environment, supporting the growth and development of all staff members.
  • Provide expert guidance on children's development, observing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Support families from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds, promoting a culture of respect and understanding.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A minimum of a Diploma of Children's Services or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA) in Early Childhood Education.
  • A current Level II First Aid Certificate, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and asthma training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and families.
