Science Department Support

The Science Laboratory Technician will provide expert advice on complex issues and assist in strategic planning to support the Science Department.

">About The Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and implementing various science initiatives, participating in leadership decisions, leading coaching and providing ongoing professional development and instruction to staff, coordinating and facilitating science practicums/experiments consistent with the science curriculum, and overseeing resources within the Science Department.

  • Promote and implement science initiatives to boost engagement and highlight student pathways
  • Contribute to leadership decisions to enhance efficiencies and ensure compliance with policies and legislation
  • Lead, coach and provide professional development and instruction to improve systems and practices
  • Coordinate and facilitate science practicums/experiments aligned with a school curriculum
  • Oversee resource management including equipment maintenance, storage, cleaning, disposal, and WHS compliance
About You

To succeed in this position, you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience, including expertise in science education, leadership, coaching, and resource management.

  • Expertise in science education, curriculum design, and implementation
  • Leadership and coaching skills to improve systems and practices
  • Experience in resource management, including equipment maintenance and WHS compliance
  • Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma level in science or related field
Eligibility And Safeguarding Requirements

Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment and hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement are essential requirements.
