The NBMLHD is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Nuclear Medicine Technologist to deliver high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET services in line with professional standards and district policies. This role involves performing diagnostic examinations, maintaining equipment through reliable quality control procedures, and managing administrative tasks related to General Nuclear Medicine and PET modalities. This position plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, accurate, and safe diagnostic services, strengthening the connection between NBMLHD's imaging services and the communities we serve.
ResponsibilitiesNote: The original description focuses on role responsibilities and related tasks; the core responsibilities include performing diagnostic examinations, equipment maintenance through quality control, and handling administrative tasks for General Nuclear Medicine and PET modalities.
What You Will Bring To The Role- Diploma or Degree of Applied Science (Medical Radiation Technology) Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the accreditation board of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM).
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) for Medical Radiation Practitioner Registration in Nuclear Medicine Practice.
- Possess or eligible for NSW EPA radioactive substance licence S14 for use of radioactive substances for nuclear medicine technology, IA16 for use in computed tomography radiation apparatus for nuclear medicine technology, IA16D use computed tomography radiation apparatus for diagnostic radiography and nuclear medicine technology, IA27 for use of radiation apparatus (dexa) for BMA or BCAr.
- Good understanding of practical skills in Nuclear Medicine procedures and experience in complex problem solving and decision making.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent patient care skills. Good interpersonal and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Clinical experience in a wide range of Nuclear Medicine & PET procedures and equipment.
- Commitment to personal and professional development and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of radiation safety and quality control/improvement.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
