Lead the AOPA Congress Convenor 2024

The Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association Ltd. (AOPA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the AOPA Congress Convenor 2024. As the Congress Convenor, you will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of the 2024 and 2025 congresses.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the formulation of the budget and ensure the congress is delivered on time and on budget.
- Assess and communicate the outcome of free paper submissions to authors.
- Manage case studies submitted for deep dive sessions and format discussion guides and PowerPoint presentations.
- Communicate and invite potential invited speakers and panellists from interstate and international.
- Work with the communications officer to ensure marketing and advertising are appropriate and timely throughout the year.
- Delegate tasks to the committee and other volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the events.
- Plan surrounding events such as the social function.
- Formulate the program and schedule of presentations.
- Assist with the formulation of the Congress proceedings.
- Develop articles for the AOPA Review regarding congress.
- AOPA certified practitioner with previous attendance at congress.
- Past experience as a presenter or involvement in delivery of an AOPA education event.
- Confident communicator and decision maker.
- Past experience as a committee chair, including developing agendas and leading discussions and decisions.
- Past experience in project management, such as monitoring budgets, delegation of tasks, and monitoring action plans or critical paths.
- Organised mindset and willingness to manage and complete tasks with support from the congress secretariat.
- Passion for education and the advancement of O&P.
- Excellent communication skills to assist with contribution to discussions and decisions and communication with a wide range of stakeholders.
AOPA is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitable individuals. Please submit your EOI up to one page in length detailing why you would be interested in leading the AOPA Congress for 2024 and 2025 and how you meet the desirable attributes.
