Head of Department Job Description

Job Overview:

This is a dynamic leadership role that requires a dedicated and experienced educator to lead the Design and Technology department at our school. As Head of Learning Area, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective teaching and learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of curriculum policies and programs in Design and Technology.
  2. Manage and supervise a team of teachers and staff within the Design and Technology department.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues across the school to develop and implement whole-school initiatives and projects.
  4. Provide coaching and mentoring support to teachers to enhance their professional practice and student outcomes.
  5. Contribute to the school's strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  • Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
  • Have experience leading and managing teams in an educational setting.
  • Be highly skilled in communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Have knowledge of and experience with Teaching for Impact.
