Job Overview

The purpose of a Support Assistant is to facilitate the development of essential life skills and confidence in individuals with disabilities.

About The Role

You will be responsible for engaging with clients to develop their skills through activities such as cooking, music, crafts, leisure sports, reading, singing, and more. You may also provide in-home support for clients, which requires working afternoon and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster relationships with clients to enhance their abilities and independence
  • Organize and participate in activities designed to promote skill-building and personal growth
  • Provide support services in clients' homes, including evening and overnight shifts
  • Prioritize tasks and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities
About You
  • Demonstrate confidence when interacting with clients, building trust and supporting their unique needs
  • Show resilience and self-assurance when working with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Be flexible and available for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
  • Holding relevant certifications, such as a valid Australian Driver's License and Working With Children Check
  • Able to pass a National Criminal History Check
