The Opportunity

HCA is seeking a Field Service Fitter or Heavy Diesel Mechanic for our Gunnedah Branch. You'll provide diagnostic, repairs, and maintenance services to multiple sites, shutdowns and customer fleets across customer Mining and Construction Projects. This role is perfect for someone focused on quality service, proactive problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service outcomes.

Reporting to the Service Coordinator, your responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and upgrading Hitachi machinery
  • Responding to breakdowns and conducting diagnostics
  • Joining the build team to commission new equipment
  • Completing and submitting required documentation
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers, peers, and departments

  • Qualifications: Minimum Certificate III in Mobile Plant Mechanics or equivalent.
  • Experience & Skillset: Experienced diesel mechanics, OEM, excavator diagnostics expertise are a plus.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-focused, effective planning, quality outcomes.
