Job Title: Diversity and Inclusion Advocate
Job Description:The Australian Bureau of Statistics is seeking a skilled professional to fill an **Inclusion and Diversity Officer (Affirmative Measures - First Nations)** role in the Inclusion and Diversity Team.
This vacancy is being advertised concurrently under a general and an affirmative measure - First Nations recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to foster and promote an inclusive culture and increase diversity across the organization.
- Monitor and report on outcomes of inclusion and diversity initiatives, as identified in the ABS Inclusion and Diversity Strategy and/or action plans.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) and partner to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Provide advice and support to managers and employees to raise awareness and understanding of inclusion and diversity matters.
- Support and assist diversity champions and employee networks to create and promote an inclusive culture that values and supports diversity.
- Ability to engage effectively and sensitively with diverse groups, e.g. people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Well-developed written communication skills and ability to interpret and produce information in an inclusive, clear and concise manner for a range of audiences.
- Experience in developing and fostering relationships and collaborating, engaging, influencing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver under pressure in a dynamic environment, meet tight timeframes, manage competing priorities and respond quickly and flexibly to change.
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to problem solve and identify solutions.
