Procurement Specialist

About the Role

The Procurement Specialist is a key member of the Supply Chain team at Electro Optic Systems Pty Ltd. This role is responsible for the category management, sourcing, and procurement of mechanical and electronic components from external vendors, ensuring on-time delivery and technical quality issues are managed effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analysing specifications and drawings to source and request quotes for make-to-order materials and components for EOS Defence System production requirements.
• Liaising with relevant EOS DS stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure all required information is available to complete the RFQ and purchase process.
• Selecting appropriate vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials in accordance with the Category Plan.
• Negotiating pricing and lead time with selected vendors to meet project and production requirements.
• Maintaining awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production.
• Negotiating changes to lead times with vendors as required.
• Collaborating with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule and meet company objectives.
• Creating an appropriate delivery schedule when raising Purchase Orders (quantity, batch, and delivery dates) to meet Production demand.
• Onboarding new suppliers, undertaking vendor checks, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Expediting open orders with vendors to meet required delivery dates, including liaising with vendors to understand delays and updating the ERP system and stakeholders accordingly.
• Communicating with vendors regarding specification and quality issues and requesting concessions from EOS DS' Engineering stakeholders.

About You

• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification.
• APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded.
• CIPS accreditations highly regarded.
