Key Portfolio Priorities

We are seeking an experienced professional to support the National Manager Population Health & Wellbeing and team in delivering key strategic initiatives. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with hybrid working arrangements.

Our organisation has been a trusted peak body working to improve heart disease prevention, detection and support for all Australians for over 60 years.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor strategic initiatives, projects, and organisational priorities.
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic, collaborative, and consistent best-practice approaches across the portfolio.
  • Develop and review various communications (reports, submissions, presentations) aligned with our organisation's policies and strategy.
  • Support the coordination and preparation of internal/external meetings, representing our organisation when needed.
  • Contribute to the development of our organisation's policy and advocacy from both a national and local perspective.
  • Assist in planning and executing events, including preparing presentations and speeches or managing event logistics.
  • Support operational and administrative functions within our Northern Territory office.
  • Monitor and track budget expenditures for the Population Health & Wellbeing portfolio, ensuring accountability through regular updates and reports.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, mentoring teams and supporting cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration across all organisational levels.
  • A background in fields such as public health, social services, business management, advocacy, or public relations.
  • Proven skills in administration, project management, and time management.
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of cardiovascular health and related social, economic, and political factors.
  • Sound judgement and agility in solving complex, strategic challenges.
