About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an appropriately skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine Subspecialist or Obstetrician with a special interest in MFM to join Western Health's dynamic multidisciplinary Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at Joan Kirner Women's & Children's Hospital. The MFM Obstetrician will provide high-risk pregnancy care for women with complex pregnancies including those with maternal medical disorders, pregnancy-specific disorders or fetal complications including management of fetal anomalies and fetal growth restriction.

About Our Team

Our Maternal Fetal Medicine service provides tertiary-level consultation for patients with pregnancy disorders within our catchment area, including referrals from PIPER. We actively participate in national and international multicenter trials and offer ample research opportunities to support the career of a specialist within MFM. Our vision is to become the best training center for obstetrics and gynecology in Australia.

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-risk pregnancy care for women with complex pregnancies
  • Manage fetal anomalies and fetal growth restriction
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care

Your Qualifications

  • Current or eligible for registration with AHPRA as a Medical Specialist
  • Fellowship with RANZCOG or equivalent Specialist qualification
  • Subspecialist qualification in Maternal Fetal Medicine recognized by RANZCOG or experience working in a tertiary MFM unit in Australia for at least 6 months during the past 3 years
