Health and Safety Lead

The Health and Safety Lead plays a pivotal role in our organisation’s commitment to providing a safe and respectful workplace. This includes developing and implementing comprehensive health, safety, and wellbeing strategies and systems that align with current legislation, regulation, and professional practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to lead the development and implementation of contemporary policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain a state-of-the-art digital operational management system for health and safety, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • This key position requires a proven ability to create a mature health and safety culture underpinned by care for self and others, personal responsibility, and collective accountability.
Essential Requirements:
  • A Working with Vulnerable People registration is mandatory, or the ability to obtain this without restrictions.
  • A valid Workplace First Aid Certificate is required; if not already held, we encourage applicants to seek certification.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in WHS or higher educational certification (or equivalent expertise/experience/qualifications) would be highly regarded.
  • Membership of Australian Institute of Health and Safety and/or Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene is valued but not essential.
  • ICAN lead investigator qualification and/or Lead auditor qualification (or equivalent) would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • Experience working in construction and/or food and beverage sectors (or similar) would be advantageous but not critical.

To succeed in this challenging role, you must possess exceptional leadership skills, outstanding communication abilities, and a deep understanding of health and safety principles and practices.
