Are you a safe and efficient driver with excellent communication skills? We are seeking an experienced driver to join our team in Hervey Bay. This role is responsible for delivering scheduled items, assisting with the collection and delivery of returns, and ensuring the load is secure and safe at all times. In addition, loading/unloading items, following transport legislation and guidelines, and providing exceptional customer service are key aspects of this role.

Job Description

This role involves:

  • Conducting pre-start checks on the vehicle and all equipment before use
  • Reporting any faults to their manager immediately
  • Completing daily run sheets and having all delivery notes signed
  • Driving and working in a safe manner at all times
  • Adhering to COR requirements
  • Completing daily load audits
  • Ensuring tidy presentation of the vehicle and equipment at all times

In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be required to:

  • Thoroughly knowledge of NSW and QLD Road Rules and adhering to transport legislation/guidelines and road safety guidelines at all times
  • Assist customers with placement requests and resolve any queries or disputes that may arise
  • Report any queries or disputes to the Branch Manager
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A full clean driver's license
  • HR/MC license
  • Good communication skills
  • A proactive nature
  • High attention to detail
  • Construction Industry White card
  • Vehicle unloading crane experience
  • Forklift license (highly desirable)
  • VLC license (highly desirable)
