Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Settlements Professional to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. As a key member, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other business areas and third parties.

The purpose of this role is to support the accurate and timely delivery of trades in our trading systems. This includes reconciling and recording transactions in our general ledger and settling them.

In achieving this purpose, you will provide data into our general ledger for further reporting and to the trading teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Management: Prepare receivable invoices and validate payable invoices and postings
  • Accruals and Journals: Preparation of EOM accruals for open trades
  • Contract Review: Interpret new contracts with a focus on understanding settlement deliverables
  • Trade Validation: Validate trade details between counterparties, brokers, and our trading system

Requirements:

  • Degree in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or Data Science
  • Experience in electricity, gas, financial, or derivative markets
  • Strong attention to detail and sound communication skills
  • Strong numeric skills and MS Excel experience (essential), hands-on experience in SQL or Python or analytics tools (desirable)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively prioritize workload
