QUT is seeking a Lecturer in Creative Practice to join our Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

The successful applicant will have an established track record of teaching, research, and transdisciplinary creative production experience across performing, screen, live music and/or interactive media arts. They will play a central role in positioning the School as a leader in research that explores industrial and technological convergences rapidly expanding the creative, production, technical, and audience engagement possibilities for professionals.

They will equip students with the critical, creative, and production skills required for careers marked by constant change in how we produce, distribute, and consume creative content.

The focus of the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice is to pursue research with impact and prepare our students for innovative roles as knowledge leaders at the nexus of design, education, communication, creative practice and social change.

Job Requirements
  • Completion of a doctoral qualification.
  • A Strong record of engaged and impactful research in the creative industries; evidenced for instance by publications in relevant high-quality journals; success in winning competitive research funding from key national and international funding bodies; completion of high impact research projects with government, industry, or community partners; consultancy with commercial and/ or professional bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability in learning and teaching, including scholarly and innovative approaches to learning and teaching as well as successful supervision of higher degree research students in the relevant area(s) with a record of positive student feedback.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in establishing and maintaining multidisciplinary teaching and research project collaborations with industry, community, and/or government partners in the arts, education, social services, health, and/or other sectors, both nationally and internationally.
  • Demonstrated highly developed organisational and project management skills, with evidence of project completions.
  • Demonstrated track record of teaching, research, and professional practice in production management for music, theatre, television, film, animation, and/or interactive media arts contexts.
  • Demonstrated track record of teaching, research, and professional practice in creative technologies.

  • You will be a skilled practitioner in your field, able to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research activities of the Faculty.
