Job Opportunity: Child Protection Specialist

The Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP) is seeking an experienced child protection specialist to provide critical support to children, young people, and their families.

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing safety and risk concerns for children and young people within a multi-disciplinary service model.
  • They must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to source timely, accurate, and comprehensive information and make evidence-based decisions in line with the child/young person's safety, welfare, and wellbeing.

This role requires a professional who can model ethical and curious casework that is responsive to the changing needs of children, young people, and families. Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and self-management skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this position, applicants must have:

  • Minimum 2 years' frontline experience in statutory child protection services or within statutory investigation services.
  • Preferred completed or in final semester of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, and Welfare along with practical experience.
  • Other related degrees considered if applicant demonstrates knowledge, skills, and experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
