School Canteen Manager

This role oversees the school canteen operations. You will work effectively in a school environment, possess excellent communication skills and have experience working in similar settings.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage day-to-day activities, supervise staff and volunteers, plan and monitor daily operations, including rostering, record-keeping and stock management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage canteen operations and ensure compliance with legislation and NESA requirements.
  • Supervise canteen assistants and volunteers, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Develop procedures for delivering an affordable food service and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ensure health, safety and welfare of others in the canteen and perform cleaning tasks incidental to the main function.

Student Wellbeing:

  • Demonstrate care and concern for student wellbeing and communicate information to relevant staff members.
  • Support all aspects of the school's wellbeing programs and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

General:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area and remain up-to-date with current trends through participation in professional development activities.
