Job Summary

The Inventory Officer is a critical role within Leidos, responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inventory management systems. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously in a customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mirror transactions made in the Leidos inventory management system onto Commonwealth systems.
  • Generate equipment transfer requests on behalf of CBRND Fleet and Defence users.
  • Monitor stock holding levels against usage rates and contracted holding levels and identify issues or improvements to the Leidos CBRND Fleet manager.
  • Liaise with CASG, AHQ, and other stakeholders to ensure equipment transfers are approved and delivered to the correct location.
  • Assist Defence equipment users in supporting or returning Leidos managed equipment.
  • Generate and issue disposal directives.
  • Maintain a disposal register to track status of disposals and liaise with external business units to expedite as required.
  • Provide support to the Codification and Cataloguing of new items of supply.
  • Raise stocktake requests and record results in the Commonwealth inventory management system, work with Leidos Warehouse Coordinator for parallel activities in Leidos inventory management system.
  • Monitor group inbox for equipment requests or issues and liaise with Leidos CBRND Fleet manager to resolve.

Requirements

  • Qualified in the operation of Defence inventory management systems (SAP ERP / MILIS).
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Logistic management is beneficial.
  • Hold a current Australian Defence Security Clearance or have held one in the last three months.

Experience

  • 3+ years direct experience in Defence inventory management.
  • Experience in the daily use of SAP ERP and/or MILIS.
  • Experience with supply chain and supplier management.
  • Experience with procurement/purchasing is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently produce good results in a complex environment.
  • Be self-motivated, driven and career focused ensuring that safety, exceptional customer service, and operational targets are achieved.

  • Ability to work autonomously in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk.
  • Good Knowledge of information technology tools used for supply support and asset management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong focus on customer service and outcome.
  • Proven ability to adapt and maintain a flexible approach to changing needs or priorities.

Additional Information

A minimum of Baseline security clearance is required.

Applicant cannot hold citizenship in, or have significant ties to an ITAR embargoed country.
