ATSICHS Brisbane is a not-for-profit community-owned health and human services organization dedicated to delivering culturally responsive care to the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in greater Brisbane and Logan.
We pride ourselves on providing holistic health and human services, supporting our people and community in our commitment to create a flourishing future and lasting legacy for them and their families.
About the RoleThe Family Support Specialist will work in partnership with families to empower and build their agency to make effective change and overcome their identified family challenges. The role is heavily outreach-based, engaging families in their homes, and translating initial engagement into a strong ongoing partnership.
Once engaged, the role will not identify family issues in a practitioner-led assessment, rather deliver interventions that build family awareness and insight into their history and current family challenges, enabling families to self-identify their key challenges and lead their own change.

- Facilitating Family Routines: Establish and maintain structured family routines that improve household management, healthy eating, and quality family time.

- Reducing Substance Misuse: Develop and implement interventions to reduce substance misuse, promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
- Improving Family Health: Coordinate access to medical and dental services, promoting annual preventative health assessments and check-ups.
