Job Title: Financial Compliance Investigator
Are you looking for a challenging role where you can apply your analytical skills to investigate financial matters? Do you have a strong background in accounting or finance and are passionate about ensuring compliance with regulations?

As a Financial Compliance Investigator, you will be responsible for leading investigations into suspected breaches of financial laws and regulations. Your primary goal will be to uncover the facts and provide recommendations to management on how to prevent similar breaches in the future.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting or business and current membership with Chartered Accountants ANZ and/or CPA Australia. You will also have demonstrated knowledge of interpreting financial accounting practices and procedures, including accounting systems, auditing standards, and accounting standards.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Planning, conducting, and leading investigations into suspected breaches of financial laws and regulations.
  • Identifying and gathering evidence in accordance with evidentiary practice and legislated requirements.
  • Conducting research and analysis to identify trends and issues, to inform recommendations on compliance strategies, policies, and operational processes.
  • Representing the organization at hearings and providing evidence as required.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including members of the legal profession, audit professionals, and other experts to develop effective working relationships and manage complex investigations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate continuing high-level and contemporary performance by actively participating in professional development opportunities and providing mentoring.

Requirements for this role include:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, or business.

  • Current driver's license.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone and be self-reliant.
