Senior Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately coding episodes using ICD-10-AM in accordance with Australian Coding Standards and relevant state and national advice.

  • Coding accuracy is critical in this role as it directly impacts revenue and client satisfaction.
  • As part of our team, you will be working closely with other professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Accurately code episodes using ICD-10-AM Classification system across broad Casemix.
  2. Ensure all coding is completed in a timely manner, meeting internal and external requirements.
  3. Participate in documentation improvement and revenue optimisation activities to enhance business outcomes.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in clinical coding using ICD-10-AM Classification system.
  • Demonstrate strong computer literacy and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Be able to work independently as well as collaborate with others as a key member of our team.
