Operations Planning Team Roles

There are several openings for experienced Engineers and Senior Engineers to join the Operations Planning team. These roles will see you provide detailed engineering support to solve challenging technical problems, participating and contributing to projects that improve the operation of the power system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex computer-based network analysis to identify issues and providing operational advice and instructions to the Real Time Operations team.

  • Assess planned network outages in the short term timeframe and over multiple regions to identify and determine any corrective action required for identified system security and reliability issues.
  • Provide key analytical and technical input related to the preparation of operational analysis, advice and instructions to the Real Time Operations team and key stakeholders.
  • Review the provision of short-term reserve assessment to ensure timely publication of relevant accurate information.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (preferably in Electrical Engineering with a power system focus) or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • Proficient use of programming languages (Python, SQL etc), analytical software packages and Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Understanding of the power system with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve technical problems.
