Electrical Maintenance Specialist

  • Thiess Sonoma Mine in Queensland is seeking an experienced electrical maintenance specialist to join their team.

  • As our next high-voltage electrician, you will be responsible for performing servicing, repair and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment.

  • You will work collaboratively with the Electrical Supervisor to deliver high-quality solutions and results.

  • Key responsibilities include:

    • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as general maintenance, breakdowns, services, and component change outs.

    • Conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure.

    • Providing technical information from reference manuals, OEM systems, and computer-based systems.

    • Maximizing equipment utilization through regular inspections.

  • Requirements for this position include:

    • Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate.

    • Post-trade experience working in the mining industry with diesel electric haul trucks.

    • Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3007.

    • Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure.

    • Statement of Attainment for HV Switching.

    • Registered cabler would be an advantage.

  • Benefits of this role include:

    • Seven days per week rotating roster including day and night shifts.

    • Attendance bonus.

    • Retention bonus of $10,000 (inclusive of superannuation).

    • Living out of camp allowance if applicable.
