Job Description:

The role of a Technical Field Specialist is to provide expert technical support for on-site equipment and explosive delivery systems in the mining industry. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for mobile units and field equipment
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and basic repairs in remote environments
  • Collaborate with blasting teams and site supervisors to ensure equipment availability and operational readiness
  • Promote and adhere to Platinum's Zero Harm safety culture and compliance standards
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A trade qualification in mechanical, automotive, or diesel fitting
  • Experience in mobile equipment servicing or field-based technical support
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability in hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • A current manual driver's license (HR license desirable or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with explosive delivery systems (MPUs) is advantageous
  • Sound understanding of safety and environmental protocols in mining or industrial sites
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in small teams
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
