Job Description

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team who is passionate about working to help make a difference in the lives of others. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing behaviour support services to individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and write Functional Behaviour Assessments.
  • Develop, write and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with people with a disability, family, carers, support workers, allied health providers, decision makers and other stakeholders.
  • Train, monitor and support the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Report and meet Restrictive Practice Requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key implementers and stakeholders.
  • Complete client notes and other required documentation to ensure compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • An Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree in Psychology/behavioural sciences/Occupational Therapy/Speech and Language Pathology/Social Work or relevant experience in Behaviour Support and registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • Experience working with or supporting people with a disability.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow legislative requirements.
  • Hold a Driver's Licence, and have a car and be able to travel to clients.
  • Able to meet NDIS Worker's Screening Check requirements.
  • Be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
  • Able to gain Core registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development.
