Job Role

This position involves utilizing comprehensive knowledge of plumbing and drainage legislation to provide high-quality assessment and inspection services. You will leverage industry-leading skills, knowledge, and abilities to deliver quality assessment services through consistent application of legislation within required timeframes.

  • Conduct onsite inspections of plumbing and drainage installations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assess design drawings submitted through the development application process in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Provide professional advice to colleagues, plumbers, consultants, and the general public on plumbing and drainage matters.
  • Ensure that commercial and domestic plans conform with legislative, policy, and local law requirements.

You will work as part of a supportive team within the Development Compliance unit, responsible for ensuring building works across the city are compliant with relevant legislation and approvals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality plumbing and drainage assessment and inspection services.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and assessments of plumbing and drainage systems.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance on plumbing and drainage matters.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve compliance with legislation and approvals.
Requirements:
  • Current Occupational Plumbing and Drainage licence or related qualification/licence.
  • Current 'C' class unrestricted driver's licence.
  • Construction industry white card.
  • Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking.
  • High-level communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency across various computing platforms and software.
  • Commitment to working safely and autonomously while being a productive member of a large team.
