Plumbing and Drainage Inspector Role

This is a key position within our Development Compliance unit, responsible for ensuring that any building works across the City are compliant with relevant legislation and approvals.

As a Plumbing and Drainage Inspector, you will utilise your industry leading skills, knowledge and abilities to deliver quality assessment services through the consistent application of legislation within the required time frames.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess design drawings submitted through the development application process in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Provide professional advice to colleagues, plumbers, consultants and general public on plumbing and drainage matters.
  • Conduct onsite inspections, ensuring that the plumbing and drainage systems within the City are, and remain, in a fully operational condition in accordance with legislative and Council guidelines.
  • Provide a high level of customer service ensuring a prompt response to written and verbal requests by clients and stakeholders and through delivering technical solutions where required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • You hold a current Occupational Plumbing and Drainage licence or other related qualification/licence.
  • You hold a current C class unrestricted driver's licence.
  • You possess a construction industry white card.
  • You will have the ability to apply analytical and critical thinking.
  • You will have high level communication and negotiation skills and be proficient across a variety of computing platforms and software.
