The NSW SES is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Zone Manager, supporting operational activity and strategic priorities in emergency response.

Key responsibilities include managing and leading volunteers across Units and Clusters to ensure readiness to respond to emergencies, establishing and maintaining key relationships with other emergency service agencies, councils, and local communities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Capability & Training and Volunteer Engagement teams to recruit, train, and prepare volunteers for emergency responses. The role also involves participation in operational activity, including on-call rosters during emergencies, and travel to visit Units across Zones of responsibility.

The NSW SES is a trusted volunteer-based emergency service, committed to delivering excellence in community preparedness and emergency response. We serve the NSW community as the lead agency for floods, storms, and tsunamis, recognized as the most versatile and widely used emergency service organization in the state.

We have over 10,000 volunteer members, including reserves, and a full-time equivalent workforce of over 370. Our volunteer Units are varied and unique in their capabilities, designed to address specific risks to communities across NSW.
