Product Controller Job Description

This role is an excellent opportunity to join the Product Control team in a dynamic environment.

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to financial controllers and APAC Rates trading desks. This includes ensuring P&L, balance sheet, and month-end close procedures are accurate and completed on time.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management concepts and be able to analyze P&L explanations through first-order and second-order Greeks across Fixed Income products.

An ability to work under pressure and in a constant changing environment is essential for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing, analyzing, and overseeing daily P&L and Risk for the APAC Rates market-making desk.
  • Ensuring correct risk sensitivity is sent to Value at Risk and providing commentary on ensuing back-testing results.
  • Performing the month-end close process and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial books and records.

A good understanding of system flows from trade cycle perspective, trade booking to risk management system to P&L & Risk to Sub-ledger and General Ledger is required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Product Control function of a trading business or similar role in Markets business in Financial Services Industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify and solve problems independently.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are desirable:

  • Good understanding of risk management, revenue reporting systems and end-to-end infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of interest rates and FX products.
