Decarbonizing Steel and Built Environment Venture

We are seeking a talented individual to join our venture capital team, BlueScopeX, as a Ventures Analyst. This role is based in our Melbourne CBD office and offers the opportunity to engage internally and externally across a global footprint.

The successful candidate will actively participate and invest in the start-up ecosystem, focusing on two main areas: decarbonization of steel and the built environment. They will be responsible for analyzing various start-up technologies, making recommendations on investment decisions, and contributing to our internal knowledge base.

This role requires strong technical skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to structure and communicate information with various levels of internal and external stakeholders. A background in engineering, science, finance, or related fields is essential, along with logical reasoning and an understanding of the steel industry or industrial/manufacturing companies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze various start-up technologies to identify potential investment opportunities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to synthesize information and communicate effectively
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, science, finance, or related field
  • Strong technical skills and commercial acumen
  • Ability to structure and communicate information with various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of the steel industry or industrial/manufacturing companies and processes
