About Us

CBGU JV is a joint venture between CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella, and UGL, delivering the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package for Brisbane's Cross River Rail. This ambitious project involves a 10.2-kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Design Director, you will work closely with the Rail Delivery Manager to support the delivery, review, and change management of a robust and cost-effective design for the allocated rail works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage rail-related design package reviews, optimisations, and changes by relevant design consultants.
  • Manage all relevant design interfaces.
  • Facilitate design coordination meetings.
  • Ensure safety, constructability, and budget are effectively built into the design and promote improvements.
  • Perform technical reviews of design documentation.
  • Prepare documentation required for project-related Scheduled Corridor Access System (SCAS) closures.
  • Manage Rail Construction Phase Services (CPS) / Request for Information (RFI) correspondence and communication.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in rail design and design management in large-scale infrastructure projects is essential.
  • Good understanding of Queensland Rail requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply contracts and scope.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, managing the finalisation of rail design delivery and Construction Phase Services.
