About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Policy Advisor to join our team in the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development. As a Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in developing and implementing policies that support the modernization of postal services in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of policy positions to support the modernization of postal services in Australia, including preparation of policy papers, presentations, and impact assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of advice and briefings for the Minister and senior executive on issues relevant to domestic postal services and the parcel delivery sector.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across Government, the community, and Australia Post to facilitate cooperation, identify opportunities, and progress policy outcomes.
  • Undertake research and analysis tasks required to develop new policy and legislation.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate your capability in contributing to team goals, communicating effectively, having a growth mindset, and finding and evaluating information from multiple sources.
  • Have a strong understanding of policy development and implementation, as well as experience in working with stakeholders to achieve policy outcomes.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
