Job Title: APS6 Senior Grant Policy and Services Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced APS6 Senior Grant Policy and Services Advisor to join our team at Flexhive. As a key member of our policy and services team, you will play a critical role in providing grant policy advice and guidance to departmental staff.

About the Role

This is a S26 transfer or 12-month non-ongoing role with a 6-month extension option. You will be based in Canberra and must have a baseline clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide grant policy advice and guidance to departmental staff, including interpreting and applying legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of initiatives and projects, such as the Closing the Gap Grants Prioritisation Guide and the Quality Assurance Framework for Grants.
  • Problem-solve on a range of complex grant topics, with a strong client focus.
  • Build capability and drive grant best practice education, updating related tools and templates.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Finance and the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
  • Assist with GrantConnect reporting and contribute to briefs, policy implementation, Senate Estimates, and Senate Orders.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in grant or finance-related policies, implementation, and administration.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, including experience in providing high-quality policy advice, service, and guidance in line with financial frameworks and regulations.
  • Capacity to engage with complex issues, exercising sound judgment and solving problems.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to meet short deadlines with competing priorities and deliver outcomes to a high standard.
  • Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and lead engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment, both technical and non-technical.
Desirable
  • Experience using GrantConnect.
  • Experience using a Financial Management Information System and Excel expertise.
  • Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting.
