Job Description:

This role provides a unique opportunity to lead the nursing team in our operating theatre and central sterilising department, shaping high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

As a skilled nurse unit manager, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring smooth patient flow, efficient resource allocation, and adherence to safety protocols. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the organisation's mission, while developing your leadership skills and expertise in operational nursing leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the nursing team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data to inform clinical decisions and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care, effective communication, and optimised patient flow.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures related to patient care and staff management.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, with a strong understanding of operational management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and manage conflicts effectively.
  • Knowledge of NSW Health policies, procedures, and standards related to patient care and staff management.
