Job Title: Regional Business Development Manager

About the Role

Skyports is seeking a commercially driven, detail-oriented Business Development Manager to grow operations in Australia and APAC.

This role is based in Sydney and sits within the Drone Services division. You will be responsible for managing key client relationships while expanding commercial footprint across the Australian Market.

This is a client-facing role that requires exceptional communication skills, commercial acumen, and operational coordination.

We are looking for someone who can lead business development efforts, respond to complex public procurement processes, and deliver high-quality commercial proposals.

We are seeking someone with direct experience selling drone services or demonstrating a deep interest in drone technology and eagerness to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle sales from lead generation through to contract negotiation and close.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for major clients, managing communications, commercial discussions, and long-term relationship development.
  • Drive preparation of exceptional-quality PowerPoint proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own and manage pricing models and commercial analysis in Excel, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Respond to public procurement processes including PQQs, RFPs, RFIs, and ITTs, coordinating input from internal teams and ensuring timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Support initial planning and design of drone operations, ensuring client expectations and KPIs are met.
  • Monitor deal progress, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and proactively address any issues or feedback.
  • Track all commercial activity and pipeline progress in CRM.

Key Performance Indicators include:

  • Timely and high-quality delivery of proposals and pricing documentation.
  • Closed-won sales from key accounts and new national clients.
  • Strong and positive client relationships maintained over time.
  • Clear, consistent, and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Measurable growth of commercial opportunities and successful conversion of new business in the Australian market.
About the Ideal Candidate

Proven experience in account management and business development is essential, ideally within drones, aviation, or technology sectors.

Demonstrated ability to grow business and develop new client relationships in the Australian market and wider APAC region is also required.

Exceptional PowerPoint skills with strong portfolio of client-facing presentations and advanced Excel proficiency, particularly in pricing, financial modelling, or commercial analysis, are highly valued.

Experience responding to public procurement processes (PQQs, RFPs, ITTs) and managing complex submissions is also preferred.

Excellent organisational and communication skills, with client-first mindset, are crucial for this role.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail, as well as enthusiasm for working in an innovative, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment, are also essential.

Interest in aviation, drone technology, or emerging tech sectors is a plus, but strong interest and willingness to learn is necessary for this role.
