Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in electrical and instrumentation activities.

The role involves inspections in accordance with project quality control plans and inspection test plans, as well as issuing relevant quality records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or trade, with experience in oilfield-related plant/facility construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verifying that materials and equipment are correctly received, stored, preserved, calibrated, handled, identified, and traceable.
  • Supporting and checking the evaluation of inspection personnel qualifications, verifying work procedures, and identifying special processes.
  • Supervising and witnessing inspections, checking reports and documentation issued by inspectors, and verifying the collection of required quality records.
  • Performing hazardous area (EEHA) inspections.
  • Verifying the correct implementation of approved quality control plans/inspection tests for subcontracted activities.
  • Planning, witnessing inspections, and collecting relevant quality control records.
  • Verifying the collection and management of documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections, ensuring records are retrievable for the final as-built dossier.
  • Preparing the quality works dossier for final handover to the document controller.
  • Ensuring the NCR management process is in place and effective.
  • Collaborating with construction, subcontractors, and client QA representatives in a team environment with transparent information sharing.
  • Providing input into weekly quality reports to the project quality manager.
  • Reporting discrepancies or concerns immediately to the site quality manager.
  • Providing quality-related guidance to all stakeholders.
  • Conducting in-process audits to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of quality control activities to meet approved quality, inspection, and test plans.
  • Training personnel about quality issues and methodologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a QC inspector.
  • Experience in oilfield-related plant/facility construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Electrical engineer or electrical trade qualified.
  • Current electrical license.
  • Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA) AS/NZS 4761.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with the team and other stakeholders within time, budget, risk, HSE, and quality parameters.
  • Ability to work a 19:9 FIFO rotation to site.
