Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Family Violence Support Specialist to join our team. This role will involve providing individual counselling and support to clients affected by family and domestic violence, as well as developing and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual counselling and support to clients affected by family and domestic violence
  • Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of each client
  • Work with allocated portfolios, focusing on areas such as intake and assessment, child safety, health, outreach to designated locations, LGBTQIA+, culturally and linguistically diverse, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary degree and qualifications in community services, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in the community services sector, providing support to individuals and families affected by family and domestic violence
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, DFV counselling, system advocacy, and case management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including being an active team member
  • Understanding of the impact of family and domestic violence on individuals and families
