Senior Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsellor to join our team at Hope Community Services. As a Senior Counsellor, you will play a critical role in providing individual counselling to clients affected by family and domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual counselling to clients affected by family and domestic violence, developing and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to their unique needs.
- Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring regular follow-up and consistent support, and maintaining detailed records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to other staff within the FDV Hub, facilitating professional development opportunities and training sessions for staff.
- Work closely with the FDV Hub team, including Senior Safety Advocates, Safety Advocates, Lawyers, and other staff, to provide integrated services, and liaise with external agencies to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Hold a relevant tertiary degree and minimum of two years' experience working in the Community Services sector providing support to people experiencing or at risk of experiencing family, domestic and/or sexual violence.
- Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, DFV counselling, system advocacy, and case management.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including being an active team member, and understanding of the impact of family and domestic violence on individuals and families.
